Considered one of the bloodiest battles of WWII, the Battle of Ortona is also one of Canada’s greatest WWII achievements. In December 1943, Canadian forces victoriously seized the picturesque Italian seaside town of Ortona from German troops in one of the most epic battles of the Italian Campaign.
